The Comox Valley has a well-kept secret in the Sherab Chamma Tibetan Bön Buddhist Centre, located at 407A 5th St. at England, right in the heart of Courtenay.

Residents of The Tides in Courtenay gathered, social distancing intact, to salute the frontline workers for all their selfless efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. The residents have been congregating every evening at 7 p.m. for a two-minute salute and are hopeful that the act catches on throughout the Comox Valley.

The Comox Valley Community Foundation has created a special fund specifically for non-profits struggling to help families during the COVID-19 health crisis.

We have had numerous requests to post a fluid article directing consumers to essential service retailers that are open, and in particular, that have special hours for seniors and other vulnerable residents, or are delivering goods to homes during the COVID-19 self-isolation/quarantine period.
