This summer's Honda Celebration of Light will feature all-Canadian fireworks displays in Vancouver.
Pyrotechnics teams from Yukon (on Saturday, July 19), Quebec (Wednesday, July 23) and Nova Scotia (Saturday, July 26) are set to light up the sky over English Bay, event organizers announced on Thursday (May 8).
Canada’s iconic Snowbirds team will fly July 19 and 23, along with electric drone shows at 10 p.m. nightly, just prior to the fireworks.
Three nights are planned during B.C.'s largest live event, launched in 1990 as Symphony of Fire. This is officially the 33rd year, following pandemic-triggered cancellations in 2020 and 2021.
Crowds of close to 400,000 fill the West End and Kitsilano for the world's longest-running offshore fireworks competition, owned by the volunteer Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society.
"In light of significant financial challenges," organizers say in a news release, "the return of the iconic event is also reason for celebration, and the Vancouver Fireworks Society is expressing its appreciation for the ongoing support of title sponsor Honda and major sponsors including Concord Pacific, Tymac Launch Service, the Province of BC, the City of Vancouver and Vancouver Parks Board."
The 2025 teams are Midnight Sun Fireworks (representing Yukon), Team Royal Pyrotechnie (Quebec) and Team Fireworks FX (Nova Scotia).
