Revue to shake up Denman

The Lasqueti Island Tsk Tsk Revue will shake up Denman Island on April 6.

The Lasqueti Island Tsk Tsk Revue will shake up Denman Island on April 6.

To all discerning, consenting adults who like to get their funny bones and fancy tickled, here is an invitation to an evening of Titillating Variety at the Denman Community Hall.

The Tsk Tsk Revue is a cabaret-style show conceived in the wilds of Lasqueti Island to aid the condition known as “bushed.” It also provides a stage for the group of local performers who want to play dirty.

After five provocative annual shows celebrating sensuality and comedy, the Lasqueti Tsk Tskers felt they had enough nutty material to hit the road.

The troupe comprises 20 lively, strange, hilarious, edgy and talented dancers, singers and players conspiring to entertain.

Meet Billy Blackfoot of rapping fame. Get teased by temptress Tlulah Moon aka Rachel Mooney. Witness Big Love. Fall for a Gerry Can CanCan girl or a Backwoodz Boy. Get lost in Madame JoJo’s croon. Shake Harry Palm's hand. Peak under a Woodsman’s kilt. Cheer on Jennifer Peals. Listen up to Lollipop.

Also expect to see special guest stars from Denman.

This is contemporary commentary and entertainment cultured in this crazy world in the way of old school burlesque. The dictionary defines burlesque as a comically exaggerated imitation of something. The words absurd  and striptease also come up.

Tickets will be available at the door. Showtime is 8:30.

The performance will be followed by dancing to the beats of DJ Holmes and DJ Nigel. Adults only due to risqué subject matter.

If you want to start early, come to the hall for a 7 p.m. pre-show dinner by Heather Hilberry & Co. While you sit and eat you can mingle with Tsk Tskers.
