Get ready to dance as Spanish Boots takes the stage for the next Simms Summer Concerts on Sunday, July 13, at 7 p.m.

This Vancouver Island-based five-piece is a dynamic fusion of Latin grooves and rock and blues energy. With members from Mexico, Ecuador and Canada, Spanish Boots blends slick, soulful Santana-style rhythms with driving blues, rock, cumbia and more. Vocalist Carolina Viteri sings in both Spanish and English, backed by Sebastian Robles Servin on guitar, Oscar Robles Diaz on drums, Brittany Christina Bowman on bass and Glenn Jamison on keys.

The concert will run until approximately 8:30 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the music in the riverside setting of Simms Millennium Park, located by the 5th Street Bridge and across from Lewis Park.

The free Simms Summer Concerts continue most Sundays at 7 p.m. through July and August.  Upcoming performances include Blues Jam (various artists) on July 20, Time Well Wasted on July 27, Stealing Dan on Aug. 10 and Shotgun Kelly on Aug. 17. The final concert is the Doobie Brothers Experience on Aug. 24, which will also feature a food bank drive.
