The Comox Valley Regional District has managed to keep the Sports Centre open during the coronavirus pandemic. The district plans on undertaking improvements to the Aquatic Centre in spring and summer, and anticipates re-opening the facility in the fall, pending further wrinkles with COVID.

Construction has started on a pair of four-storey apartment buildings at 2600 Mission Rd., next to the North Island Hospital (Comox Valley) in Courtenay. The two buildings will contain a combined 94 units, consisting of 16 three-bedrooms, 46 two-bedrooms and 32 one-bedrooms.
