A number of community engagement sessions are planned in Courtenay to explore neighbourhood-specific ideas for Courtenay鈥檚 Official Community Plan (OCP) update. A mix of in-person, outdoor-guided 鈥渨alkshops鈥� and virtual online workshops are happening between Oct. 26 and Nov. 10. Advance registration is required for both activities. An Alternative Approval Process (AAP) is underway in Courtenay to measure public support for borrowing funds to rehabilitate the Fifth Street Bridge. The bridge requires structural improvements, new coating to repair and prevent corrosion, and deck repairs. In order to proceed with construction in 2021, Courtenay will need to borrow $3.4 million.

Pedestrians in Puntledge Park and those crossing the Condensory Bridge will see the familiar sight of fishers in the middle of the river.
