Dear Editor,

As a frequent bus rider, I am writing in praise of our excellent and hard-working transit system. Yes, it has its challenges but is constantly working on improving the service with the limited funding they have. The drivers often take extra shifts plus overtime and new drivers are steadily being trained to replace retiring drivers.

The drivers are patient, it’s a demanding job, and if the passenger says hello you’re pretty sure to get a response. Some drivers keep more to themselves and they have every right to do so. Their job is to get passengers safely to their destination and hopefully on time. With road work causing detours it’s an extra challenge. I have never felt unsafe on a bus. Some of the roads in the Comox Valley are bumpy and the ride can be bouncy.

If you need to speak to the company whether to complain or have a question, it’s best to call by 3 p.m.

On my last bus trip there was a visitor from another part of Canada. She was speaking to the driver saying what a wonderful Transit system we had compared to the small town she was from.
