Dear Editor,
Not sure if you still do community shout outs but I have to rave about this!! Our healthcare staff deserve the praise.
A HUGE thank you to the incredible team of doctors, nurses, and medical magicians who took such amazing care of me during my hysterectomy. You guys didn’t just remove an organ you upgraded my whole life!
To Dr Kennedy, with hands steadier than a ninja, thank you for evicting my uterus with such precision, pretty sure it didn’t even get its damage deposit back. #winning
To Kealy, Melissa and Megan, the nurses who kept me comfortable, hydrated, and laughing you’re the real MVPs. Thank you for your kindness, your patience, and for not judging me when I was struggling with outgoing gas pain…absolutely the worst.
Also, Dr Holmes who managed my anesthesia and pain meds… you are basically a wizard. I blinked and woke up uterus-less, feeling fabulous (well… eventually) I owe you cookies or at least my firstborn… oh wait, nevermind.
I’m beyond grateful for your care, your compassion, and your ability to make major surgery feel like just another Wednesday. My uterus and I have officially parted ways and honestly, I think I’m winning the breakup.
I think our healthcare professionals get a lot of negative commentary these days and I just wanted to point out how absolutely fabulous our hospital team is.
So cheers and much love to modern medicine, talented humans, incredible medical teams for their skill, support, and general awesomeness during my hysterectomy adventure.
Thankful can’t even describe the feelings I have right now. #blessed.
