The Comox Valley Tigers U14 team won the gold medal for U14 CVUSC girls in their games at the Surrey Mayor's Cup on March 15 and 16.
The team won their first game against the Westcastle Rangers 2-0, they won the second game against the GVU Hurricanes 7-0, they won their third game against Squamish United U14 Girls 3-0, and they won their final game against the Alberni Athletics 1-0, making all games shutouts.
The Comox Valley Tigers team also won the North Island Championship Cup in December, 2024.
It was a great all around team effort. The defence was strong and they moved the ball up into the offensive zone quickly. Also, many different forwards contributed to the scoring and they kept the opposing goaltender and defence on their heels. One of the opposing teams gave up a penalty shot, however the Comox Valley Tigers team didn't give up any penalty shots over the four games.
