A fabulous year for the Strathcona Nordic Ski Club was capped by winning two awards from Nordiq Canada, formerly Cross Country Canada.

The Comox Valley Strikers U18 girls are provincial champions.

On April 16, a cold and overcast morning, the Comox ladies came out for 18 holes of fun golf.

The Evergreen senior recreational slowpitch group is now looking for new players of 55+ of age of either gender. It is our third year of operation and we are now looking at expanding our team numbers to four. We need at least an extra 15 players if not more to do so. We play every Tuesday and Friday morning from 9:30-11:30, May through August at Lewis Park.

Two Upper Island Riptide soccer teams have advanced to the semi-finals of the ̨ÍåMMÂãÁÄÊÒ Cup – where teams compete against A-Cup sides from the Lower Mainland attempting to secure a place at A-Cup provincials.

A small but dedicated group of local runners made the trip to compete in the Sooke 10k, April 7. The beautiful course is winding, and includes some deceptively large climbs and descents to make for a challenging course.

The Comox Valley Kickers women’s finished the regular season on a strong note.

The Sanzana sisters, Dakota and Makayla, both won gold medals in their weight devisions last weekend at an Island series Judo tournament hosted by the Nanaimo Judo Club.
