Sierra Murphy played middle on the senior girls team

Hayden Fieret and Dawson Fox of the Isfeld Ice senior boys basketball team have been selected to play on the North A team at the Vancouver Island Seniors Classic all-star games, April 6 at Spectrum Secondary in Victoria. Their teammate Ian Rutledge will play on the Island North B team.

The Comox Valley Kickers women beat the Meralomas Rugby Club — the defending Div. 1 B.C. women’s champions — Saturday in Cumberland.

Courtenay golfer Abigail Rigsby finished second at the Hillcat Classic in Owasso, Okla. Tuesday with a two-day total of 151 (77, 74). Her round included two birdies.

The Comox Valley RV Half Marathon is celebrating its 25th birthday this weekend. The annual event is Sunday, March 24 and is hosted by the Comox Valley Road Runners. The 21.1 kilometre course showcases some of the rural beauty of the area and treats runners to fantastic mountain views. The race is also one of the flagship events of the Island Race Series, and is one of the biggest running events on Vancouver Island.
