As the provincial Liberals and NDP continue their leadership campaigns, the BC Conservative Party prepares to begin its own leadership search. The provincial Conservatives will hold a leadership election May 28, the Comox Valley constituency association, says in a news release.

Fishermen gather outside MP Duncan's Courtenay office to protest halibut allocation
Angry fishermen rallied Monday outside the Courtenay office of Vancouver Island North MP John Duncan, in response to the allowable catch for halibut recently announced by the department of Fisheries and Oceans. Their message was two-fold: the 88/12 per cent halibut allocation is a joke and they will never buy quota off the commercial sector.
