More than 150 young, elite-level hockey players were in Chilliwack for an annual provincial camp on the weekend.
BC Hockey hosts its Program of Excellence provincial camps for female U18 and male U16 players at the Chilliwack Coliseum from July 24 to 27.
The camps bring together many of the top young hockey players from B.C. and Yukon, and determine B.C. teams at the 2025 U18 Women's National Championship and the 2025 WHL Cup.
The Women’s U18 Camp features 76 of the best players born between 2008 and 2011, while the Men’s U16 Camp spotlights 76 of the top players born in 2010.
The women will battle for a spot at the 2025 U18 Women's National Championship, which runs from Nov. 2 to 8 in Mount Pearl and Conception Bay South, Nfld. Meanwhile, the Men’s U16 program will build toward the 2025 WHL Cup, with dates and location to be announced in the coming months.
BC Hockey's Program of Excellence is a platform for athletes from British Columbia and Yukon who have attained an elite level within the sport.
