Everything is coming up ‘roses’ for the Comox Valley Horticultural Society as it gets ready to present its next speaker, Paul Bulk (a rose expert), on Monday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. via Zoom.

Local expert will discuss the role of the executor

Retired major Ted Usher (in suit) of the Army Cadet League, presents (from left) Cadet Sergeant Clifford, Cadet Warrant Officer Vernon, and Cadet Warrant Officer Patry with their Army Cadet Service Medals. The cadets are all members of 1726 Canadian Scottish Regiment Army Cadet Corps. The medals were presented for successfully completing four years of service to the program.

A community potluck will be held Friday, Oct. 21 for Kwax’Dzi Dsas at the Cumberland Cultural Centre. Bring your favourite dish, and join Karver Everson and Kumugwe Cultural Society in support of the Cumberland Affordable Family Housing Project, a partnership between the Dawn to Dawn Action on Homelessness Society and the CV Transition Society.

Local dignitaries offered their congratulations, former teachers spoke glowingly, and friends and family were on hand to see Jody Wilson-Raybould inducted to the Comox Valley Walk of Achievement, on Sept. 23.
