The council of the Town of Comox conferred the Freedom of the Municipality to Mayor, Russ Arnott, the highest honour that a municipality may bestow upon a person.

In an effort to keep voters as informed as possible heading into the Oct. 15 municipal elections, the Comox Valley Record sent out a series of questions for Comox Valley Regional District director candidates to respond to, regarding issues that affect rural residents of the Comox Valley. The following are their responses.

Did you know there鈥檚 a locally produced podcast just for caregivers? The Island Treasures podcast originated during the pandemic, when now-retired social worker, Alison van Schie, a certified caregiving consultant, took a step of faith and entered the world of podcasting as a means to provide hope, encouragement and information on helpful resources for caregivers who may be feeling isolated and alone because of health restrictions and limited access to in-person supports.
