It was many years ago that YANA鈥檚 founder, Sandra Williams, gathered with friends around her own kitchen table to craft the first Christmas crackers, all in efforts to raise money for the Comox Valley鈥檚 grassroots organization.

The Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation passes along its sincere gratitude for TB Vets Charitable Foundation鈥檚 generous grant to fund the purchase of a new pulmonary function testing chamber (PFTC) for the Comox Valley Hospital鈥檚 Heart and Lung Department.

Everyone is invited to the heart of the Comox Valley for 鈥楳oonlight & Magic鈥� on Friday, Nov. 19 from 5-8 p.m. - the traditional kick-off to the festive season in Downtown Courtenay.

Of the thousands of Canadian soldiers who were wounded while serving in the First and Second World Wars, many returned home missing limbs. United by a common bond of amputation, these veterans not only served their country during wartime, but they made a difference in the lives of generations of amputees that continues today.

Hundreds of military personnel, dignitaries, and residents showed up at the Courtenay cenotaph to pay their respects at the 2021 Courtenay Remembrance Day ceremony.
