Measure antlers, horns at Fish and Game

Saturday, Jan. 19 is the date that all hunters are invited to bring their skulls, mounts, horns or antlers to the Courtenay and District Fish and Game Protective Association to be measured and scored. There will be a $5 measuring fee for non-members. You are welcome to bring interesting antlers or mounts, even if not record material for a little show and tell. You will always find someone interested in the story.

Two long-time Comox Valley North Island College staffers recognized

Sonia Warren, North Island College payroll and benefits reporting officer, and NIC instructor Frank Lu recently received recognition for more than 55 years of service to NIC. Aside from being a resource to many employees for 30 years, Warren tends to NIC planter boxes in spring, while Lu has kept pace with the computer programming world for 25 years. The event recognized 63 employees for a combined 926 years of service.
