Branch 17 Fiddlers are celebrating three decades of providing music to the folks of the Comox Valley.

Having opened its season with a dynamic organ quartet and followed up last week with a stunning guitar trio, the Georgia Straight Jazz Society combines guitar and organ, presenting the Sam Kirmayer Trio featuring Ben Paterson and David Laing at The Avalanche Bar (275 8th St. in Courtenay) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19.

Pianist Sarah Hagen returns to the Comox Valley to perform a program of cozy and familiar works by Scarlatti, Chopin, and Brahms, all perfectly suited for an autumn morning.

The Georgia Straight Jazz Society presents Thursday night jazz at the Avalanche Bar at 9275 8th St. in Courtenay, featuring the electrifying Astrid Lyre Trio at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 12.

Letz Sing sessions will be operating on a drop-in basis for September. In this new format, there will be an eight-week term beginning in October that the public can sign up for, but until then, Letz Sing will be operating in three usual locations every week and the public can drop-in without signing up.
