The Comox Valley 9U Jets brought home a second championship in late July, marking the first time a 9U Jets team has won both BC Minor Island Tournaments in the same season.

The team first took home the Island Championship title from July 18-20, and then followed it up with a win at Nanaimo's Summer Smash tournament.

The team started the tournament with two wins on day one against Gordon Head and Ladysmith. On day two of round robin play, they dropped their first game to Hampton Little League, but went on to win against the Nanaimo Pirates to secure their spot in the semi finals.

The team narrowly defeated Oceanside in the semi- final Sunday morning with an 8-7 victory to move on to the Championship game. They got off to an early lead against the Nanaimo Pirates in the final, and were able to hold on to secure a 9-4 victory and with the gold.
