The 9U Comox Valley Jets flew their way to victory at the Island Championships in Duncan over the weekend (July 19-20).
The minor baseball team beat both Triangle and Gordon Head in shutout games, scoring 12-0 and 17-0 respectively. But they lost to Nanaimo 12-8 in round robin play. However, they faced the Nanaimo team again in the semi-finals, this time winning 11-7.
That put them in a position to play the undefeated Oceanside team in the finals, winning 7-6 to take home the championship.
