Despite beating the reigning U21 B.C. champions in Esquimalt, a junior curling team from the Comox Valley needs a few more wins to qualify for the provincials.

Far too many student athletes, dancers and performers miss out on the opportunity to perform at the highest level because they don’t know how to prepare themselves to be promoted properly.

The MOWI Riptide started the Remembrance weekend with a rare and unique experience Friday night when the U14 girls played the U15 Storm on their home field at Vanier Turf. It was an excellent evening for a great match that would test the younger Riptide girls against the older Storm team. The U14s came out in the first half and battled to a 0-0 scoreline at the half.

The VIU Mariners men’s and women’s soccer teams both had runner-up finishes at their respective national championships.

The Comox Valley is home to two world powerlifting champions.

An annual volleyball camp will be held over the Christmas break, Dec. 21 and 22 at Highland Secondary.

The VIU Mariners men’s and women’s soccer teams have both reached the gold medal match at the national collegiate championships. Several Comox Valley footballers are on the Mariners. Chloe Gummer and Justine McMahon play for the women, and Grayson Chalifoux, Travis Brown and Hans Haagerup for the men.

The Orange Sox Fastball program — developed to form a U16 boys team for the 2020 BC Summer Games — is launching its online registration portal. Each player will be able to register and participate in all team practices, clinics, training or team functions at no cost.
