On May 7, the Comox Valley welcomed 30 teams from across the Island for the inaugural Dime Valley Basketball Club Tournament. During a jam-packed day across three raucous gyms, games went down to the wire, new friends were made, and roaring crowds cheered for their newest community club in action.

Vanier has eye on B.C. championships

A total of 127 pickleball players from around B.C. competed at the Comox Valley Pickleball Association Tournament May 7 and 8 at the 19 Wing gym. Demand for court time was such that online registration was sold out in mere minutes. Already there is talk about next year.

Camp is open to all players in Grades 5-12

Ken Dickinson, a 60-year-old Comox Valley bodybuilder, was chasing the 50-plus grand-masters and 40-plus masters titles at a recent competition.

The senior girls rugby team at Vanier Secondary defeated Argyle Secondary of North Vancouver 72-0, Friday at home.

The Comox Golf Ladies hosted the North Island Golf Tournament on Mother鈥檚 Day, May 8. The tournament was sponsored by Gregg Hart, Royal LePage in the Comox Valley.
